I think this particular girl has a bunch of videos of her noodling. I'm sure it's at least partially because she's pretty cute.

I have absolutely no desire to do my own noodling, at least not if a 50# catfish is involved.

It is the only form of fresh water fishing that is not boring as heck. Watching grass grow is more fun than most fishing.

I don't want to go fishing, any sort of fishing. I've been a couple/few times when I was younger.

Still, I have no desire to wrestle a really old catfish from the inside out.

I definitely don’t recommend it. There is no aspect of that entire day that’s any fun at all.

Does that old thing even taste good....

I'm pretty sure that not only does it not taste good, but it's also probably not very healthy. It is a bottom feeder which is where all of the heavy metals and garbage go. I don't think catfish is supposed to be very good for you, and the older it is, the worse it is.

I'm assuming that once they've wandered around with their trophy, taken photos and video and weighed it, that they put it back.

Ah man I love catfish and hushpuppies but yeah, the big ones like that wouldn't be good. I'm sure they let it go after the photo ops. These days really, most, (if not all), catfish you get in a restaurant is farm raised. I have no desire to stick my arm up in a muddy hole and pull out a fish, any fish, ya just never know what else might be up in there. [emoji23]

Not a good assumption. That puppy could’ve been skinned, cut up, fried and eaten.

In my experience, no.

Michigans form of a catfish is a bull-head fish. Rare to catch one over a two footer.

Compared to perch or bluegill fish...they are not worth eating.

Great Video John! It's an exciting sport, and as with this young lady, teamwork is key to ensure the person working the hole doesn't drown. As an aside, one of our Guide's key rules was, "always keep your hands in the water, and off the bank" No copperheads will ever be in the water, and you'll never see the one hidden on the bank that decides to tag you.
