It doesn't look like it's made of silicone. :D |
Not a clue...stopper or plug of some kind.

Tip for a car door lock rod.

Knob for the cowl vent on a 1956 VW Beetle. Probably blue.
|
Bug knob.
|
VW dash knob. Headlight switch maybe?
Imagine this: if you owned the company that did one thing - make these knobs for all the VW beetles and buses and Karmann Ghias etc plus spares, you could have retired to your own island. |
We need a pic of the end to see if it's threaded.

Window crank knob?
|
It is threaded and many knew it was a bug dash knob…specifically headlight switch knob…I think. All the dash knobs might be the same, can’t remember. A throw back from my old VW days. Would really love to have an early bug with a fabric sunroof…but alas I only have a 2 car garage.

All the dash knobs including door.

VW # 113-941-541IV
Ivory knob used on headlight switch and ash tray in VW bugs, buses, and Karman Ghia 1952 to 1966. Here's one from an ashtray I have in the parts pile. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664802618.jpg |
👍 you have judged correctly…I knew a lot of you VW guys would know!
|
Do they clean up?
|
^^ Yes. Soap and water will usually do it. Sometimes you need to use a little lacquer thinner to bring out the original color.
|
Pardon my ignorance.
Ivory as in elephant tusk? Or man made ivoryesk? |
