Many ranges have stores and smiths. whether they test them or not I have no idea (seems unlikely). But then they may dry fire (where acceptible) and have a better idea based on a dry fire if they work or not.

I saw this the other day and thought it was interesting. Apparently the Taurus 608 revolver has issues, which is interesting since so many folks say "get a revolver, they work every time." I get it, that's probably almost always the case, and when they don't, you can just pull the trigger again. But apparently, it is possible to make an unreliable revolver.

It might not surprise you guys to learn that I am good friends with a number of gun store owners and their employees. Some of these stores have indoor ranges attached to them, but most don't. Whether they do or not, I have never met a gun store owner who tests the used firearms that come through their doors. They give them a good once-over, looking for any damage, modifications, missing parts, and that sort of thing, but they don't shoot them.

Wt the Debt Ceiling passed the Treasury is set to print 1,400,000,000,000.00 in short term Treasuries in the next month or so...that is just to cover banking liquidity issues...and their need for collateral..U can't make this stuff up..

Returning to the OP's situation, my sense is a home defense gun has a decent chance, if ever actually used in anger, of being placed in an evidence bag for weeks/months? So shouldn't be too prized.

Prized enough to keep you out of a body bag.

If you have not noticed Thread topics usually run out of gas after all the pertinent information has been chewed over. At that time they veer off onto other subsidiary topics...If you are thinking that this is a rebuke, you are absolutely right. SmileWavy

Any thread over 3 pages is bound to go off topic from the original off topic.... or over 1 page on some sub-forums.

But I do like snakes!

....and dawgs!

The purpose of this little bit of edification is not to discuss American economic folly but to highlight that putting dinero into spoons is not a bad idea given the irresponsible and delusional behavior of the American people. Better to hold something of real value like spoons than currency, bank accounts, bonds, equities and RE...All of those traditional asset classes are dependent upon the foundation value of the USD.

Microsoft, Apple, Amazon etc do not exist if the economy supported by the USD is in collapse, (because of a failed USD based monetary system). The lights go off, ala the Great Depression as a historical reference point. :(

Given this state of affairs Americans should be scared Sless as a normal state of being any other state of being is delusional. Hey Boyz when are you scheduled to get trans-ed???? That is reflective of how psychotic America has become.

I guess the lesson here is you need to practice with whatever weapon you choose and old tech can sometimes be the best tech.

On the customs that I have had done I have used exceptional wood..with a modicum of engraving to complement the wood...

On the G&..H I don't think so... maybe just a borderline????? that has to be thought out..

Lately nice stock blanks have gone crazy at the auctions on the right coast.. I have not checked lately what the wood guys are getting for their lumber..that maybe the reason..
