Voodoo Ranger IPA fans..

...this stuff is good. New Belgium 9.5% abv...a nice juice flavor without being hoppy.
(cabmandone would approve)

Ooh... haven't seen that one yet. Gotta pick it up.
.

stevej37 10-19-2022 10:22 AM

^^^ The can pictured, is a 19.2 oz. that I saw in the 'single beer' section of my local grocery store.
I haven't seen it yet in a reg 6 pack or 4 pack yet around here.

Racerbvd 10-19-2022 11:34 AM

I like em...

stevej37 10-19-2022 11:42 AM

^^^ Do they sell them in FL in a 4-pack or larger? All I've found here are singles.

Big fan of the standard voodoo ranger, but I haven't had the juice force. Will give it a try!

stevej37 10-19-2022 11:54 AM

I was expecting a real hoppy beer because of the 9.5 abv.....but it's not.
It's got a smooth juicey taste to it.

Yah, similar (just more malty, not "juicy") there's one of the Flying Dog IPAs that's super well balanced, and also pushing the double digit ABVs. Truly brutal if you're not careful.

I love that when I'm in the UK and get a "strong" ale from the hand pump where the landlord is all "woah son, that's a big beer" and it's like 4.8%. Then he'll hand you a pint of 12% cider out of a grotty box on the top shelf without a comment - and thus begins the "how did I get back to my hotel and where are my trousers?" evening.

(Bells two-hearted for me even as a 30y CO front-ranger and now New Messican rescued from MI)

Ahh yes, Flying Dog Raging Bi**h is also a good, but dangerous one! I may have to grab a beer now and get ready for Phillies game #2!

Bells Two Hearted has been my favorite for a few years now.
It's just a very good all-around beer.

I have a 4-pack of Bells Two Hearted Double in my fridge right now.:)

I agree, that is one of my go-to beers, and seems to have good distribution....there are so many good ones to choose from these days! Although I keep telling myself I need to back away from the beers, but thats a story for another day!

As that is brewed in my town i will have to pick some up to try it. I like the normal ranger.

Thanks for the shout out on it.

Love that beer. Too bad they blew the lead, but back to Philly and some craziness.

stevej37 10-20-2022 07:48 AM

Stopped at the same store this am.
Found one six pack (@ $11.99) on the bottom shelf and added three more of the 19.2 oz singles.($2.99 ea.)
They had more singles, but I didn't want to appear greedy.:D

Love IPAs, Voodoo Imperial, Bells Two Hearted and Santan Moonjuice are my current go-to.

Not really a big juicy or hazy IPA fan.

But on our man Steve’s recommendation, I got some Voodoo juice force.

Yuk, tastes like iced tea to me for some goofy reason.

But make no mistake, I’ll finish the 6pack…eventually. Unless my son comes over, he likes hazy/juicy IPA.

Crowbob 10-20-2022 08:08 PM

Yeah. I think 'fruity-flavored' beers blaspheme the sacred Ninkasi.

But, on the advice of our beloved Steve (and the alleged ABV 9.5) I'll try one and render my earnest verdict.

stevej37 10-21-2022 05:07 AM

^^^ If they have it...get the 19.2 oz single....a good way to test it.:)
