The only question I have on that beautiful car is....why would the owner put an 18 month battery in it.

I haven't confirmed this but it seems plausible.
That may be true for a Fairlady 1600, which is OHV like an MGB, but the 2000 is an OHC enginem so no go there. However, I had one of these in high school, and underneath it one day, I saw a British Leyland parts tag on a front bumper bracket, so I assume that there was some reverse engineering going on.

Very cool car. Looks solid. I can't say with scientific certainty but I think that most cars hauled over the road on big transporters get to their destinations just fine. I have a small, open one car trailer and I've never put so much as a dead bug on a car I've hauled. My tall PU truck blocks everything. A semi trailer does it even better. A car hauler who damages the cargo won't be employed for long.

Scott, I as well as others would be very curious what your daughter had to pay for that haul...I'm guessing $2500. A Suburban is huge and heavy and fuel prices are what they are.

Congrats on the killer score, Big Dave! Twin side drafts too...woohoo!!! Look like SU's.

On the transport thing, if I can offer a suggestion......perhaps call the guy Scott's daughter used, who works out of PA and ask if he has an opinion on who you could use, if not him. When you are in the business you get to know these things. PA isn't far from you either, so that makes a difference on who he may know.

Please keep us posted - good luck, my brother!

Memories...what these old cars are about. Takes me back to my long ago TSD rally days in my '66 912. Bob & Marj Kraushaaur (sp?) drove a Fairlady 2000. They won often...so when I'd come up from behind them, I'd know I was running ahead, better slow down a bit...

They didn't keep it long...probably the dust from the gravel we'd run got annoying with the top down. So, they switched to a BMW 2002.

No real tech help for you here...enjoy. I'm also among those suggesting enclosed transport..

Here’s another one. I believe they run their own trucks, but can also broker. I’ve heard a lot of good things about them, and spoken with Paige several times on deals that didn’t go through, but haven’t used them yet. She’s very responsive.

Nice score. If I do another sports car, it will be along a similar arc.

This time of year, depending on weather, you will want enclosed...salt and road grime can be a issue. I used Intercity on my 356 long ago...no problems or worries.

Best with the your little Gem.

Enclosed is all that I am shopping. The car comes with a factory hard top which will be sitting semi fastened on the car, and I don't want it to become dust in the wind.

2 things

1 cheapest battery to get the job done enough to sell it.
2 probably meager requirements for a battery, so technically "good enough"

But agreed, I never by the "good enough" stuff any more.

I agree with all that said 'enclosed trailer'.
It certainly deserves it.

I used passport for mine. It was a decent experience. But, my buddy has transported a few vipers with this guy and he is my shipper from now on! Excellent service! White glove treatment! Give him a call!

Sweet Fairlady, BTW, totally jelly

I know. I had one senior year in high school, and another sophomore year in college.
They both surprised a few people.

Those early Datsuns... I love them. And they love to rev. In the 1970's we grew up boy racing them. Not as cool as this one though.
