Did you get that welded yet, if you were closer I would do it for you, did a couple years in that industry long ago, usually small stress cracks on much larger tanks.

TIG requires REALLY clean metal and a REALLY pure weld. And it's the absolute worst choice if you just want to glop some filler in there.

And if it's just pot metal, then forget it altogether.

Reasonably clean with stainless works fine, other metals like titanium different story. I still TIG weld just to keep myself amused, needed a railing for my deck.
