1899 - Netflix Series
 

Just finished watching season 1 (the only season) of this last night. Knew nothing about it and just clicked "play" on a whim. Wow. What a show.

It's kind of like a roller coaster. You get on anticipating excitement up ahead but don't know exactly what to expect and then you make the long climb up to the top, meander around a little bit and then all the sudden comes the drop and it takes off like a runaway freight train and then - as you're hurtling as break-neck speed - you suddenly realize you're not even on a roller coaster.

I thought I had this show figured out right up front, but I was way. off. Very entertaining. Anyone else watched it?

I like it,lot of twists and turns. I'm on episode 5.

if you like that, watch dark on netflix, same aesthetics/ feel,(same director) but a real mind bending story.

because of dark i over expected from 1899 and got disapointed.

dark is outstanding...one of the best shows i have seen on Netflix

I started Dark a couple of years ago, but didn’t stick with it, but that is next on the list now.

I finished S1E2. I don't know if I can continue. It seems interesting, but the volume delta between the dialog and the low frequency thrumming and the random sound effects in the background makes it hard to follow. The actors are mostly whispering to each other and I can't make out what anyone is saying. It's like watching a foreign language film without subtitles.

What's better- Altered Carbon, Dark, or 1899?
