I saw 2.69 today at a lot of stations there were at 3.15 a week ago ... next to stations that have been that low for a while. Traditional low cost stations/areas are now lead gougers ... just $trange, inconsistent pricing.

Still seeing $2.99 regularly around the MN metro area.

Not sure if it’s been discussed, but the total price includes taxes, so higher prices in some areas might have as much to do with local and State taxes.

The label on my pump today said 18.4 cents Federal, which should be the same for all of us in the US. The State Tax was 28.5 for a total of 46.9 cents.

i In Canada there is a good comparison website
https://www.gasbuddy.com/

Cars get better mileage per gallon because Canadian gallons are bigger, but its sold by the litre.
we moved to Metric 50 years ago but I'm so outdated that I still think in MPG ;-)

^^^ Funny thing is, I'm just old enough to remember how the USA was going to go metric.

I noticed something very odd yesterday. They virtually ALL decided the price was 2.99 ... only two stations didn't get the memo ... undercutting by .02 and .05.

Never before ... and oil/bbl is cheaply now at 63ish...

'cause they can.

I felt like I was robbing a bank yesterday. I filled up the pig and my Rav4 for $2.79 per gallon when stations just down the road were at $3.19.

Filled the Ducati yesterday with Mobil 93 at $4.21. Not complaining at 50+ mpg

Filled the Cayenne today at the station next to Mobil, with 93 at $3.41

Today's spread was 2.61 to 2.99 .... all tradtional patterns & deltas are wonky still.... Say oil moves $1/bbl ... stations +/- .35 overnight ... sometimes in different directions ...

Big city prices in Mayberry too

'Cause .... they ..... can.

My son called me yesterday and said "That's it! I'm buying a diesel". Apparently diesel was $2.79 and gas was 3.03.
