Teddy is chasing racoons in heaven
 

After 16 great years it was time. The whole family was there for his peaceful end. So many tears. The next day, my daughter left for Vermont with Lucy. (I live in CA, so VT is way too far from here.) My wife went with them so I'm home alone for a week. It's not really that much fun.

Winkipop was just shy of 17 when I carried her across the bridge last April.

Their little bodies just wear out. :(

I am truly sorry for your loss. Our four footers become our best friends and companions and when they pass away, we grieve because they are family.
It has been over two years since our beloved Bentley passed away and we still miss him.
We will always miss our loved ones who are no longer with us. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Charlie, I'm so sorry that Teddy is gone.

I hope you don't mind me posting this, but when you said his name was Teddy I immediately thought of this, and I thought I might share it. I love this intro, I love Uncle Charlie and Teddy singing the Old Rugged Cross and I love the Dirt Band cover of Mr Bojangles. If you want me to remove it, just let me know and I'll delete it...

Aw man. So sorry. We're crawling towards that time with Willow. Rough days when you feel that hole in your heart for the dog that gives unconditionally. Sorry. :(

My dream of heaven is waking up getting licked to death with about eight (sum total of dogs in my life) tails wagging furiously all around me. "Throw the ball, throw the ball!!!!"

We aren't ready for another. I did see someone post on facebook a couple of months ago that they had a litter of weiners and was a little tempted, but there’s no way.

Why delete it? I loved t. My Teddy wasn't a singer, but Lucy likes to make weird noises.

The raccoons in heaven are fat and slow. He’ll bring you one next time you meet.

Thanks, all. Teddy came to work with me every day for over 15 years. He had so many friends. Everyone on the local coastal trail knew him by name. They never knew my name, though.

About Teddy and the raccoons in his heaven: my daughter says the same place is hell for raccoons. He was the most gentle, docile dog you ever met. If the head dog is an alpha dog, then Teddy was a zeta dog. But whenever he saw a raccoon, it was like Jekyll and Hyde. He once went head to head with one of the bastards in our backyard. After quite a commotion, he came trotting up to the back door with a gash across his snout and a big smile on his face. I never saw him so happy.
