My Brother-in-law has a YouTube channel called Brewzle where he does reviews of bourbons and such. He has a live stream every Monday night. Check it out if ya want.

While I seem to have incredible luck at finding Blanton's at $65/bottle (3 now in the last 2 years), I also like Woodford Reserve Double Oaked (worth the premium in my book) and Angel's Envy. Both of these are very nice either with ice or as an Old Fashioned. There are others I see at the liquor store with pretty bottles that call out but haven't researched them to see if they are worth plunking down $60+ for a bottle.

The double oaked Woodford is a lot better than standard Woodford Reserve IMHO.

I will keep an eye out for that next time I'm at the store...I love a good old fashioned as well, but often just on the rocks is perfect. I've never been a neat guy...I like my drinks cold. I'm sure true aficionados will scoff at the ice!

I don’t drink much, but I do occasionally enjoy a glass of bourbon. My simple rule is if it’s not from Kentucky, I don’t drink it. I seem to like almost anything produced by the Willet distillery . Old Bardstown and Rowan’s Creek both appeal to my palette.

Someone say "Old Fashioned"?
My Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law go on a search for the best "Old Fashioned" in downtown Disneyland.

You're welcome. Be sure to "Like, Share, and Subscribe", lol. Seriously though he has lots of videos, merch at Brewzle.com as well, and the channel has been growing like crazy.

Disney has a Knob Creek Disney Select only available at their parks which is the only way I can tolerate going there.:D

Recently discovered 'Kentucky 10 Wheated Small-Batch' 90-proof (about $32). It's a Winn-Dixie store brand and was on a Buy One Get One Free sale (first time I ever heard of that with bourbon). So I tried it and it's quite good. Distilled in Owensboro, Kentucky.

I've also re-discovered good old Wild Turkey 101 that's been around forever. It is good stuff and always makes the top 10 inexpensive bourbon lists.

Keep in mind guys, the finest bourbon on the planet is still....just booze.

True. But at least it’s not that damn rancid grape juice that women drink.

Beware of the counterfeits, mainly from the mail-order stores:

Government Raid Discovers Your Prized Bottle of Blantons May Be Counterfeit

Current inventory. Nothing fancy, mainly sub-$35 picks, just what I like.

That's a very nice collection. Blanton's is probably my favorite bourbon.

Good advice…here in PA though, with our draconian liquor laws, there is no mail ordering allowed (only wine). I”m on a waiting list for a bottle of Blanton’s - the State just got 250 bottles and are awarding via a lottery. Find out next week, fingers crossed!

Angels Envy Rye for me

CurtEgerer 02-22-2023 09:36 AM

My Blanton's was a gift from my daughter when we toured the distillery in 2017. I haven't opened it. Waiting for a special occasion I guess. I usually drink on the rocks but when drinking neat, that Woodford Double Oaked is incredibly good stuff.

I've never tried Angel's Envy but need to! :D

I haven't seen a Blanton's bottle in the store for at least 6 years. We used to get it in Virginia but here in Texas, nada.
