We did a huge historical mural in grade school. I remember drawing a witch being dunked sort of like this in there.

Why are you assuming she was innocent?

I can only assume she's pissed- and rightly so! (notice the date)

I'm gonna go ahead and one star my own thread, cause, that's better than being a witch.

My wife wanted nothing of the ferret in the pants thread.
Thanks to Shaun, she now wants an instapot.

Instapots are awesome. That said, at this very moment I have some boneless shortrib beef bourguignon in the crock pot that I am seriously considering using some of it in an Italian Beef style sandwitch. I am pretty sure it will be amazing. Thanks to your excellent 1 star thread. Bravo!

Couldn't have asked for a better lunch on a coldish rainy day in May. Boneless shortrib beef bourguignon Chicago Italian Beef style. Not much to look at but insanely tasty requiring nitrile gloves to fully enjoy. Simply wow.

Reparations for descendants of witches! It’s the right thing to do!

I used to live in the "neighborhood" of Johnny's Beef. That place is legit. A Chicagoland institution. Great area of Chicago - Oak Park/River Forest, Elmwood Park.

"Who knows why we were taught to fear the witches, and not those who burned them alive."

Believe it or not, there are many people out there
who think witch trials and executions were just
an American thing, even though a little bit of easy
research would prove otherwise.
Around the same time,
witch trials and executions were happening
throughout Europe and on other continents, with more
frequency than in north America.

And there are those who would kneejerk
into a conclusion that religion was to blame.
Again, chock that up to ignorance.

The superstition that was prevalent at that time
could be directly traced to the dark ages,
and the black plague.
That really messed societies up and it took
centuries to recover.

Of course even today, we have people who believe
bigfoot exists, the moon landing was faked,
9/11 was an inside job, and the earth is flat.

There have always been fools.
That's not a problem until the fools gain critical mass
and a mob mentality.

Wow! Last night, my wife kept mentioning instapot.
I see one in my wife's future cooking armentarium!
(She really hit the ball out of the park for my upcoming birthday gift(too cool to even keep a surprise)- so I need to step my game up.)
