Impressive, and I suspect a moment that created a lifetime memory for the pitcher.

<edit> Ok, maybe not that big a deal for her. She looks young in the video, but I see that she's an Olympian and I guess a pretty big deal, so that might not have been that special to her.

Evidently, this was put on by ABC sports. She struck out many of the sluggers...using the shorter distance from the softball rubber to the plate makes the softball fast ball harder to hit than a big league fastball.

There also seems to be some other footwork allowed (with respect to the rubber) that brings the pitcher closer to the plate.

FWIW, I would never allow a woman to strike me out.

Translation: If she was on the mound, I'd never step to the plate. :D

Oh, I'd definitely stand in the batter's box for the thrill but wouldn't even bother to bring a bat.

Edit: But on the brighter (lighter) side, even in my heyday, I would have struck out with her.
