Yep, that's the one, Tweezer and Sidney. Crazy that two peeps here ended up hooking up, and so far, fairly long term. That's great news.

I'm 57 so, not exactly a "youngin" anymore but the wifey is 46 so, she keeps me young enough!!!
I don't know much about Porsches at all, yeah, I know absolutely nothing about them, I'm just an admirer of the older cars and race history mainly. I did watch the Doug Demuro review of the new 911Dakar last night and find it really cool.

Like many of us, I think the youngins start out in the technical forums and migrate over to here when they get tired of fixing their cars.

20 years ago you could buy a nice used oil pumper for <20k or a nice new civic for similar money.

Today a nice oil pumper is more like the cost of a new mercedes in the best case or an entry level home in the worst case.

I think besides the general extinction of forums, our membership continues to age since in general only us geezers have that sort of disposible income. The newcomers are old as well.

I bought my 911 when I was 40, 28 years ago. I had been working on my own cars all my life, and the 911 was no different.

In 2007 I was looking to upgrade the pitiful factory AC of the 911. I had read articles about the Griffith's system, and wanted other opinions about it, and I searched online and found Pelican tech site. I was instantly at home, and joined.

I had contacted Charlie in 2006 and received a quote for my Mr. Ice project. I wanted to research more before spending a lot.

I saw regular average guys doing a complete suspension upgrade. Wow.

The reviews of Charlies system was positive. I read a lot more, and pulled the trigger on my AC upgrade. Charlie's fantastic instructions and Pelican taught me all I needed to make his setup work. I will be testing it to the max next week in Palm Springs, CA.

Thought he had a 911 but it was a 912. Very funny but sometimes only to him.

Posed one of the best posts of all time. Was looking at a crappy Laser GT kit car and said it was like I 917 and asked "What's it worth? Wayne, how much did you pay?"
(For a real 917)

If I remember correctly....I was here (mostly in the tech area) for five years or so when the PP computer was replaced. Thereafter, all current join dates were 2001 or 2002 for those of us who were here earlier.

I was going to say I'm a youngin' but I keep forgetting I'm almost 40.

I joined in 2014, so not too long ago, and was on rennlist from I think 2004 when I got my first Porsche, a heap of a 924S.

Yeah man, the original location in North Hollywood where No Mans Land was filmed.

I remember when Rob Dickinson used to come around looking for parts for the "ultimate expression of the 911 I'm working on." Amazing how that turned out.

Lots of fun times back then. I have an old hard drive that was damaged that has a ton of photos from that period on it, I need to get it to a good data recovery company to pull all the content off it.

Very young when he was active — WHTKNKLR, but I can't get the spelling correct or he has changed his user. So young that his mom drove him to my house to pick up a 901 tranny circa 2004.

He rebuilt 911 motors for college money and graduated as an engineer.

Seahawk bought his dad's 356 notch when Scott couldn't make the finances when he found it.

Since you will never qualify as a member of the "ol' coots club" please stick around ....

'Cause if you leave... the PPOT age and sex demographic bell curves will flatline !

the lack of anyone younger than me is ... troubling.

Some of the guys here go way back before PP. I started on the porschephiles mailing list in 1994. Back when Stan Hanks used to send out the "Who's Who" (a listing of all the members on the list - across the world) and I think it was about 250 people.

Came to Pelican in late 2002 (?) when I was swapping the 3.2 into my car and was looking for some wiring guidance...
