The US women made the Swedes work for it, especially the goal keeper.
After all they've been through it's a shame to lose by half the diameter of the soccer ball.
Good news is I'll be getting more sleep in the mornings.

OTOH, I'll probably be following DK as along as they are in.

I was momentarily surprised to see her laughing after the miss. Then I remembered who it was.

This end has been a long time coming. Definitely time for some changes starting with the coach.

When I saw my fav Ertz wiping tears from her eyes I wanted to hug the TV.

For me, it’s more like “shut up and be the mentor your young teammates needed of you as a prior champion”. While there’s no question MR was a great player (in her prime)- it’s unfortunate the mentoring she preferred to employ in her time with the team had more to do with a personal agenda (resulting in division) that camaraderie and team building. And so it goes.

I think she’s looking forward to her next career. Those platitudes would have done nothing to reform her image in the eyes of her detractors but allows her to double down with her supporters.

I was in Publix this afternoon and my cashier was one I remember as a Columbian - I had met her a while back so I knew.

I watched part of the Col/Jam match so congratulated her and asked if she was watching. She replied "We play England on Saturday!" - so I guess that answered my question...ha ha.
