That wouldn't work around here.
With two of us using the checking account it would be just my luck that my wife would write a check for something big the day before the credit card bill is due. I need the chance to check the bank balance before making a withdrawal large enough to cover the entire monthly cc balance.

We use one card, two cards with their own numbers tied to same account. Our daughters each have as an emergency. This maxes points for cash during the year. We pay in full every pay day. Over the year we usually get cash back to the account ~$1200. We also have an Amazon credit card that earns higher points and pay that monthly. At some point will put that on auto pay as well.

We have also had an overdraft protection LOC that thankfully we have never used.

My wife and I have had separate checking accounts since long before we were married 32 years ago. They are actually both joint accounts, so we are on each others accounts, but neither of us has ever touched the other's accounts.

And I keep enough cash in the account to pay 100% of my bills automatically. I pay for all the utilities, car and home insurance except the cable bill, and she pays the property taxes, medical insurance. We don't have a mortgage or car payments. Heck I have not had a car payment in this millennium. Driving old cars is cheaper, maintenance is lots cheaper than car payments.

That's really interesting! It sounds like you and your wife have a system that works perfectly for you both. Having separate yet joint accounts is a unique approach, and it's fantastic that it's been successful for over three decades.

It's clear you've got your financial ducks in a row, especially with your bills and your choice to avoid those pesky car payments. If you ever need some advice or insights about managing your finances, you can always consider reaching out to a Mortgage Broker in Swindon. They might have some valuable tips to share.

bernard, are you a sleeper bot?

my score ranges from 788 - 813. I have no debt. I'm 73 yrs old and I suspect my score will never be higher than it is now. It is about use - my spends are low.

Definitely, and one with no conscience, since their other spam post was in a RIP thread...

But, lets come back in a few weeks and see exactly how Mr. Bot edits his post to include a link to some sort of credit score fixing company or something.
