Yeah thats not a good time. Same thing happend to me on mothers day. My neighbor had nobody but us to check on him. I knew something was up when he didnt bring in his mail or take in his garbage cans. He died in his sleep thankfully. He wasnt gone for long 24hrs tops because we saw him driving the day before. His son who hasnt visited him in 19 years from texas didnt even want to come up to collect his papers. Boy was he surprised at the conditions he was living in. He loaded his car with everything he could and left he was here less than 8 hrs.

Byron, he knew that he could depend on you and that’s all that should matter.
Both of you should rest easy and I feel for your loss. |
That’s a tough one. Thank you for taking care of your friend.
|
Oh what a gut punch.... I'm so sorry Byron.
May Teddy RIP. You were a good friend to him. |
Byron, you are a good man and Teddy was fortunate to have you in his life, David
|
THe good news is that it sounds like Teddy went well. Independent until the end, and then seemingly quickly.
< edit > I'd previously misstated how Teddy passed. Hopefully, it was very quick. It sounds like that may have been the case. |
Byron.....thanks for standing by your friend, Teddy. Tough situation that many would shy away from, unfortunately.
Standing by someone in need is a real test of character. Condolences, Baz |
Sorry to hear of your loss Byron, wish I could have met him when we got together last year.
|
Byron you obviously were much better at being his son/friend than his real son. From the way it sounds you should take comfort knowing his last years of life were better having you as a friend than they would have been otherwise.

Thanks for the kind words, now the hard part of the week is coming, we get the results of the biopsy for my sister's lymphoma tomorrow and Friday we have to pull Adele off the ventilator and pray.
And to add to everything else, I am sick as a dog:( right now. |
well done. sincere condolences.

I just got off the phone with the son, he said he got my number from the funeral home and since we weren't Facebook friends he had not seen my message. He called to thank me, for being there for his father, as he was very independent and didn't let anyone do things for him, the fact that his father let me in that very tight circle and he said often spoke highly of me was a rare thing. So I feel better about that now as his sun will be in town this evening. And said he appreciated all I did for his father and would appreciate it if he can reach out to me to help with the final arrangements, being a veteran, that should not be to difficult, as a national Cemetary is local.
On the not so good news, results of my sister's biopsy is a aggressive form of lung cancer and they took her to the hospital to start treatment. |
Thanks for that update Byron.... at least a small ray of son shine during this storm you are riding out....
Take care bud.... |

Sorry for your loss, Byron. Try to be strong for your sister and aunt. Take time to care for yourself, as well.

Byron,
Glad to hear Teddy's son is not a rectal orifice. That makes being a good guy easier. I was pleased to see your sister's Doctor is jumping onto treatment right away. Fingers crossed. Best Les |
