Beer Sign
 

I have had a lighted beer sign in my garage for the last 20 years.
It's collectible to me because it's my last name.

It quit working last week (no light)...so I took it apart and found a darkened 15" fluorescent bulb. Checked local stores...none available. Online bulb stores stated 'out of supply'

Finally found one through Encompass, an online bulb supplier for $25 plus $10 shipping.
So I ordered one.

Why would a light bulb cost that much??

special application and/or someone is willing to pay that much!

When people ask my name....I say 'the same spelling as the beer'
They always get it right then...with a smile.

And no...it's not Michelob.

Umm, Mr Miller, Mr Coors, friends just call you "Bud", I used to drink Schlitz but I don't think many other people know that beer.

When I was a teenager I said to my friends "The first thing I buy in America is going to be a Schlitz beer". I went into a bar in Hollywood and asked for one. The barman said "A what?" and another guy at the bar said "Ï think the man is asking for a Coors." LOL

^^^ Until my junior year in high school...I had never had a Coors beer. Always heard how good it was.

Finally, graduation year it was exported to Michigan. It was the worst beer that I had to that point.
I don't think I've had one in the last 40 years.:)

It was labelled Hamm's, but it originated from The Theodore Hamm Brewing Company.

Although that would be a great middle name! (would have helped in High School with the older gals)

I would show a pic of the garage sign...but it's broken down and waiting for a new bulb.

I'd say it's a very good excuse to drink a lot of the stuff Mr Busch.

^^^ I actually hate the taste of it.
The craft beers are all I ever drink.

But I would drink it if Gus (August) was my ggpa. :)
