Wright's breakthrough album, The Dream Weaver (1975), came after he had spent seven years in London as, alternately, a member of the British blues rock band Spooky Tooth and a solo artist on A&M Records.
While in England, he played keyboards on former Beatle George Harrison's triple album All Things Must Pass (1970), so beginning a friendship that inspired the Indian religious themes and spirituality inherent in Wright's subsequent songwriting.

Thanks for putting this death in its own thread. I never realized what groups Gary was in.

A week or so ago, i decided I wanted to pull out of storage a couple of boxes of old vinyl records and listen to them. Among them was Spooky Tooth Two. When I went to play it last night, the record was gone, probably taken by one of the kids when they were in college 25 years ago.

So, I just reordered it from Amazon.

RIP, Gary. Great music.

Someone should start a thread called, “old rock stars who are still alive” and just cross them off as they drop. It’s getting to be that time.

Fly away to the bright side of the moon.
Rest In Peace Gary.

I listened to Gary Wright quite a bit when I was a kid. I think my parents had the LP.

It depends on whether he is in Heaven or Hell.
