Try a little less arrogance, professor.

Don't waste your time. cp is the king/queen (don't want to assume anything) of the faux intellectual and may be a big wheel at the local bar trivia night, but when it comes to actual original thought, would be found in the alley out back by the dumpsters.

Agreed. There's always some twat who tries to ruin a conversation between adults with a weird flex about having sex with robots. Probably just ought to give him his cookie and ignore so the adults can continue the conversation about a movie.

Now, we WERE talking about a movie...

agreed. "Blade Runner" is an absolute masterpiece. The story, tone, acting, direction are all masterpieces. Rutger Hauer's "tears in the rain" speech (after the brutal fight between him and Deckard) is pure poetry.

the only thing Steve mentioned was (tongue in cheek) how sex with Ana De Aramis and McKenzie Davis is a win-win no matter how one interprets it. But nobody would expect you understand that.

And yet, you keep feeding the troll with replies.

+10000000.

That speech is one that I come back to over and over, it's classic.

Steve Carlton 10-03-2023 06:08 PM

And Rutger ad libbed the "tears in the rain" part.

Two versions of the "I want more life, father" request. This clip is set to start at 0:52:

The miniature work on Bladerunner was amazing. What an awesome job to have. I expect that there are few model shops left in Hollywood?

CG has sort of killed that. Saw a hobbiest version short ofva car chase that was not bad

My brother has the director's cut of this flick on some high end video disc blue Ray maybe, and a giant TV. I don't think he has ever said no to, want to watch Blade Runner?

Steve Carlton 10-07-2023 10:48 AM

I think good CGI surpasses good modeling. Nothing beats live action when it's possible- look at what Tom Cruise brings to the screen. One reason 2049 is so good for me is that they used a lot of the same talent that contributed to the original. The top reason I like 2049 is the quality of the continuity, the characters, and the story line.

Edit- models used in 2049. I assumed incorrectly they were obsolete.

I watched the original last night and forgot what a visual orgasm it was at the time, and it still holds its own.

your link the the "making of" made it extra special.
