How do you deal with annoying people?
 

A follow up to the liars thread.

I don't. I move on. Never did work in an office or with a group long and I don't do meetings like community groups. This is as close as I get to talking to people.

Every group has an annoying person and because of that I'm out.

I work alone and pretty much always have. Possibly I'm the annoying one. Everyone can be annoying to someone.

We are all annoying in one way or another.
Pick your friends carefully.

like the liar thread, there are few few actual annoying people. annoyance most often shows up impersonally by someone's needs not being met by the social interaction. once you kind of understand people and what they need, its pretty easy to avoid the annoyance with them. most often, they need to feel validated or a part of the team. and they are grasping at possible ways to be validated towards those ends.

there is very often friction between the neurotypical, and the neuro-atypical that can be characterized as annoying, but again, its a difference in needs not being met. dating a lot of manic pixie dream girls, or women with undiagnosed ADHD scientifically speaking, as a more or less neurotypical myself, it comes up a lot.

I steer a very broad path around annoying people . I know it is mostly just my own shortcomings, but life is too short to be drained by people you do not wish to interract with .

I'm the one who finds them annoying. So my choices are change myself and accept them or avoid them, 'cause I'm sure not going to change them.

I have been very lucky in that I have had to deal with only a few people whom I found truly annoying. One fellow I had to work with (nominally for) for a couple of years. I reacted badly to his chain smoking, his need to hear himself talk and his slow grasp of ideas. However I had to appreciate his dogged determination. If he got a task he would keep at it until it was completed or until everything flew all to pieces around him. Our boss asked me one day how I liked working with the guy. I responded, "Burt, I don't mind not being in charge, as long as I'm in control. "
Another one who irritates the heck out of me is the father on my granddaughter. The less said there, the better. His father was an abusive alcoholic. His mother is a real sweetheart. I guess he is just trying to make his way with the least effort possible.

I recall as a teen complaining about an annoying friend.
My daddy told me, "remember, everyone is somebody else's a**hole." With that, I decided to try and be more forgiving.

Most people just tend to not invite me around any more. Occasionally people go nuts at me.
