Well the sun finally came out and I was able to take my new baby out for a quick spin. Runs amazingly! At some point I will post a vid.
As stated earlier.....as some point I will be swapping out the aftermarket mirrors and front winkers to the factory versions. Already working on that. I also have to get a title and register her..... ![]()

That's a beauty, Baz. Very elegant color. I hope to see pictures of the Intercepter collection en masse soon!
(What IS the story with those front turn indicators? I probably would have never noticed them but now I can't stop looking at them - they look like they fit the fairing pretty well, but they really don't match the style of the machine....)

Based on some of the minor nicks and scratches on the right side of the bike, it's my opinion it went down on that side resulting in damage to the mirror and blinker on that side. Thus the decision was to replace them. Obviously if you are changing the style you have to change both sides to match. The factory front blinker looks just like the rear blinkers, so very consistent in appearance, hence your observation.

Are the indicators that are on it an aftermarket piece designed for the Honda or is it just a good match from some rando car or bike?

BTW, the fronts have 3 wires and are supposed to stay on as running lights. The rears with only 2 wires only come on when activated by the turn signal switch.

I had a V45 (750) Interceptor that I regret getting rid of to this day.
But - sorry I couldn't resist. Here is "The Interceptors" title sequence from a Top Gear episode during which the Jensen Interceptor was featured: Last edited by dw1; 11-19-2023 at 01:04 PM.. |

I have a set of used winkers on the way........still working on the mirrors.
Yesterday I discovered none of the keys work in the helmet hanger which also serves as a release for the seat. Going out now to remove it and see if I can get it reconfigured to fit one of my keys. The seller had replaced the ignition and fuel cap and I guess they didn't think to make sure this third "keyed" component was included in the refitment. ![]()

Nice one @Baz . I’ve always wondered what buying a bike from Kaplan would be like. The guy sure has energy lol.
I’ve had a zillion V4 Hondas over the years, seemingly every gen and size. Yes I’m an addict. The RC30 is my V4 obsession. Yes I know not very original but what can I say I like what I like. Had 4 in the past I stupidly sold. But not this time! Maybe 7 years ago I learned of a project French market 1988 RC30 that had lived in Guam. Now here in Seattle in project form. Turns out the guy had a 1995 916 “Varese” also a project. It took almost 6 years but finally the guy caved. I bought both bikes. The duc was less of a project so I woke him up first. Then the Honda! Took me maybe a year. It has plenty of patina but it runs/rides like new with many choice, period mods. I absolutely love it! Trying to add pics but using this forum is just as frustrating as I remember lol

There was a nice RC30 that sold on B.A.T. in January....$30K! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-honda-rc30-3/ Sorry you couldn't get your photos posted. There is a feature once you start your new message just below the message body in blue coloration "Click Here To Upload Photos". Once you click on that a new box comes up. You just drag your photos into that box one at a time and when they show they are uploaded you close that box and then hit the "Submit Reply" button. The photos need to be Jpeg files. I don't know if this helps. Kenny was a good guy to do this deal with but we had a few minor glitches I had to followup with so it wasn't perfect. He stays pretty busy so stands to reason there will be stuff not going perfect. My name was misspelled on the paperwork they mailed me so I'm waiting for a new batch to come. Until then I can't title or register the bike. Then none of the keys that came with the bike fit the lock in the back for the helmet and to release the seat so I had to take that off and send the key code to an eBay seller to get keys made. I'm hoping those arrive by end of week. There was also a $500 deposit I paid via PP as soon as the auction ended that accidentally wasn't applied to my wire transfer calculation. I got that refund today as soon as I called it to Kenny's attention. He also offered to reimburse me for the keys so he's been a stand up guy in every way. There's always going to be little glitches when you buy something - especially long distance. The bike really runs great! I will upload a video at some point. I can't really ride it until I get the registration - last thing I want is for it to get towed off. The fairings would get damaged I'm sure! Safe riding my friend.....and hope to see some pics of your machines! ![]()

New documents arrived today and all is well. Will head to tag office on Monday to see about getting a title and registration.
Also.....the new keys arrived today from the eBay seller and they work PERFECTLY on the helmet/seat release lock. Also....today I rented a storage unit to help with my bike storage situation until I get my side yard structure finished. It's 10'x15' and will run just under $100/month and that includes taxes and insurance so not too bad. I hit the tipping point 3 bikes ago so have had this on my mind for a while now and am relieved to have made the decision. The place I'm renting from is the same one I used many years ago for my landscape business and also had my 914 and 911T in there for a while. Today was like a homecoming in a way. The place has changed hands a couple times since and is now owned by CubeSmart. The manager is a lady from Texas...former Marine Corp! Super nice too. Makes a difference to enjoy who you do business with! I'll start moving some of my bikes over next week. They need a copy of the registration so these last two acquisitions will take longer, since they didn't come with titles. I'm working on it though..... ![]()
