Recaro makes office chairs, or you can make your own.

My issue is the execution. Crude plywood boxes for mounts? It's horrid. Then again, they match the rest of the room. Early American College, Ugh!

A friend of mine who is a next level jag enthusiast made an office chair from a seat from a Van den Plas. It looked cool but was a bit tall if I recall. He had it at work for years.

A stupid idea and worse execution but at least the original seats are available when the guy sells the car.

It reminds me a lot of those crude DIY "Racing simulators" people build. If it just needs to function it does the job but I cant say it's very visually appealing.

For many years, I've been thinking that a desk seat made out of a seat out of a Porsche would be great. I thought the seats in my old '88 targa were comfy and supportive. I also like the seats in my boxster, and Porsche makes a desk chair out of the same seats, but no way in hell am I paying $6k for one.

Agreed that the implementation on the seats in the OP is pretty rough (the plywood bases).

They look like something I might have in my shop, but not in my house. Way too ugly and probably uncomfortable.

Looks like Porsche may no longer be making/selling these.

But they've got a new version that they are marketing as a gaming chair that looks like
normal

limited edition that's $500 cheaper

They are included in the auction.

Looks like some sort of man cave and I agree, waste of oak plywood and time. But the dude was thinking. I mean while they are out of the car, better than in the attic.

That's why I started this thread, in fact.
I can't make sense of the layout.
Why are the seats spaced apart like that?
What are the seats facing? A theater system?
Otherwise, who sits side by side like that?
Is that a living room or garage? etc.

Hard to tell, really, but looks to me more like a storage room. Just a lot of clutter and randomness in there.
