Any Jerry Clower Fans?

This is a great story!!!
My parents had this 8-track when I was kid, I remember Dad playing it in the car and I always remembered "knock him out John"!!!
Tonight I found the album at Goodwill, paid 2 bucks for it and it is in great shape on the original Decca label, even the inner sleeve is in good condition. Funny stuff!!! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2b1418a4a0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...905fcd27b5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...04027290b8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...12233f4fbc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...28322d7794.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8648fcc273.jpg

I know it's a 33.3 but it looks and sounds like a 78rpm record.
My father had stacks of 78's and I listened to all of them.

The 78's never had anything more than the title and songs on the paper label.

Yea, he was a funny man. My parents had a couple of his records.

There is a steak restaurant in Downtown Decatur, TX that plays his records over the intercom.

I remember Jerry Clower like it was yesterday. Homespun, simple, country humor, which spoke to a nation vastly different than where we are today.

Yep, simpler times for sure. Pretty sure most kids today wouldn't get the humor, I'm glad that I do.

I loved the stories about the Ledbetter family. He was a classic for sure.

There was another guy on radio that picked losers for upcoming college football games, Leonard's Losers. He was on my local AM station every Friday. Reminded me of Clower

Is he the one that had the funny story about the bad accident with the motorcyclist with the jacket on backwards?

I think that was Dave Gardner.
"Miss Baby was alright until we turned her head around."
The same album may have "Sister Mary Elephant" on it...

Did like Jerry Clower, though. He was a funny man.
Oh my. Haaaaw!

I have the album "Rejoice Dear Hearts" by Brother Dave Gardner, hilarious and I do think the story mentioned about "Miss Baby" is on that album. "Sister Mary Elephant" was Cheech and Chong. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c0510a2be6.jpg
