Love the face and bezel on the 300 heritage. Tried on the summer blue version this past summer but it didn't work for me. Maybe black is the one to chase.

That is a really nice looking Omega! I got my first Omega, a 300M, 14 years ago with a quartz movement. It's nice pulling it out of the drawer and it has the right time on it.

Mine has that red script on the black wave face, looks so, so good in person.

My first high end watch. More than 25 years later and I still wear it occasionally.

TAG Heuer Kirium (worn by Brad Pitt in Money Ball - 2011)

300M is also gorgeous. Have the green one on green rubber strap which looks spectacular. The heritage also looks pretty amazing. I love it on the mesh bracelet the most. And they both have excellent lume.

Redbeard you see the newer Pelagos Ultra? I really like what they did with it. Enough so I think I've abandoned my quest to find the $$ to own the std Pelagos and will be waiting till I can swing the Ultra.

red-beard 10-22-2025 06:16 PM

The Ultra is an extremely nice watch and practical. Date. Brushed titanium. Micro-adjust bracelet. And it is METAS.

I read this somewhere and I think I fall into this bucket: I like my cars manual and my watches automatic.

stevej37 10-22-2025 07:03 PM

Hardly ever wear one anymore....but if I do, it's always a Skagen.
Their watches are the only ones that don't 'catch' on everything...super slim watch body.

Another daily driver for me, Hamilton Khaki King ref H64455133
It is very similar to my first love Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic ref H704550 (pictured in the post below), but slightly larger (40mm vs 38mm), has a crown guard, and has a day date vs date. This one I actually gave to my grandfather as a gift and he wore it until he passed away, then I inherited it from him. It is 13 years old, has never been serviced, and is steadily -2.5s/day.

oof, VC Overseas is my fav modern piece especially in gold.

I turn 50 mid next year so have been looking at Precious metal watches. I know they arnt for everyone and I am reserved by nature, but 50th is a milestone and I have a dozen decent stainless watches already.

Don't think I'll be able to man up on the VC even with rubber strap. Thinking gold speedy or classic daydate

After years of countless watches (Panerai, Rolex’s, Tudor’s, Omega’s), this has become the only watch I’ve worn for the past 4 years. It simply works great, simple timezone and date adjustments…just easy to live with, wet or dry, easy to read without glasses and easy on the eyes (IMHO).

I have the previous generation (2008 168.6051) Planet Ocean 600M and I share the sentiment… if I had to pare down to just one this would be it. Just a very satisfying, functional, pleasing watch. I prefer my era over yours but I wouldn’t throw yours out of bed either :D

As sicknesses go, it's not a bad ailment to have. Absolutely beautiful VC!

Whatever watch you fellas are wearing, be careful out there. This was posted on Planet F1 this morning; the story details high profile people in crowds being mugged for their expensive watches.

Read the report of the gang targeting Richard Mille watches at the USGP last weekend. I wouldn't want to be the target of that scrum!
