Take Five was what came out of Brubeck’s mind as he strove to provide Joe Morello, per his request, an unconventional crack at a solo in 5/4.
There are several video captures of Morello’s Take Five drum solos spanning a couple decades or so. Any one of which is considered by drummers of all ages to be the very apex of technical and stylistic jazz drumming. |
