I lost my soulmate this week.
 

Sadly I lost my wife of 41 years this week. She fought the good fight but in the end COPD won. I was her caregiver for 5 years. I promised her that when she went she would go in her own house and in her own bed with me and the dogs to comfort her. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday which was another of her wishes. I'm crushed. I'm sure gonna miss her. This house is way to quiet now..

Hug your girl tonight. Hold her tight and tell her you love her. Life changes without notice. Have no regrets

A good spouse is one of life’s greatest blessings and it sounds like you lived up to the bargain. May God bless you as you figure out the next chapter of your life. It’s going to take time.

Damn, this has been a bad week for losing loved ones.
A friend of mine emailed me this week that he lost his wife in a similar way earlier in the week.

I can not imagine my house without my wife in it. We may not have the best marriage right now but it is comforting hearing her sewing machines running most days.

Oh David I'm so sorry that you must suffer this loss. Though no words can truly comfort you I will offer these. Though her body is gone her spirit will remain next to you and watch over you for the rest of your life. She is now your personal guardian angel.

That you have had a soul-mate is the most beautiful and wonderful part of being human. You both are blessed for this.

That you have loss, is horribly painful, made even more so from the preciousness of what is lost.
