This is where I would be looking. Laser heat thermometer, do some investigation.

It's also easy to test your thermostat.

Last, zero heat is a common result from 'head gasket fix in a can'. Heater core might be blocked/plugged. Is the hose to the heater core hot?

The engine does get to operating temp and generally remains constant at approx 220 degrees. While waiting for my thermostat to arrive a did some further testing today. After the engine reached operating temperature I checked the temp of all coolant lines. the upper and lower radiator hoses were about 184 degrees and the heater core lines registered 152. I think the problem is a malfunctioning thermostat. I have not checked or tested the engine temp sensor yet. BTW, I did just purchase the JScan diagnostic App and I am not getting any Trouble Codes.

Thinking when I drain the system to replace the thermostat I'll flush the heater core lines again just to make sure there is no blockage. The lines are warm but I can't tell if coolant is flowing freely. Thanks!

Update. Good news to report. After replacing the new aftermarket thermostat with an OEM Mopar and flusjhing the heater core (which was freely flowing) I vacuum filled the coolant and I now have heat. Lesson learned: Insist that repair shop use OEM parts as in my case the Radiator Cap and Thermostat failed immediately after the repair. Now, do I worry about the radiator, water pump and other coolant system componants that were replaced?

Thoughts of those parts going south will haunt you every time you drive your Jeep.

Sorry, that's just the way it is with me when I don't replace parts with the best I can afford at the time.

You are SO right. I was wrenching on the jeep yesterday adding replacing the front bumper and adding a skid plate to the front crash bar when I noticed coolant dripping from the the bottom of both sides of the radiator explaining why I continue to smell coolant in the engine bay. I had previously though that the smell was from residual spill from my numerous attempts to vacuum refiill the system to purge air from the system.

New all aluminum upgraded capacity Mishimoto Radiator ordered. Yet another failure of an aluminum & plastic component

What ever engineer was able to convince companies that the thermal expansion rate of aluminum vs plastic wouldn't matter, just to save some money on the assembly of a radiator, should be sentenced to replacing every one that fails.
I've never liked them and have and will replace with full aluminum if/when they fail.

I suspect my overheating issues caused by a bad new non-OEM thermostat and a bad new radiator cap contributed to the premature failure of the new non-OEM radiator. On several occassions I had coolant boiling in the overflow tank.

I work on Jeeps, we have an internal tech forum post regarding issues with non OEM thermostats on 3.6s.

We use dish soap to get oil flushed out of cooling systems, no issues using that.

That engine has one or both blown head gasket(s).
