Meh, every time period has it's share of crap music. I suspect it would be that way going all the way back, but obviously at some point, there are no or inadequate records.

Everyone may not like Prince's music, but man, what an enormously talented artist and entertainer! He played many, many instruments and was a prolific song writer and music maker across many genres.

Sunday Morning Coming Down performed by Johnny Cash is one of my favorites. The first verse paints a familiar picture from my younger days, think a lot of folks could relate to a similar experience.
