Graceland in foreclosure?
It was scheduled to be auctioned off tomorrow (5/23), but Elvis' granddaughter Riley Keough (Daisy Jones in Daisy Jones & The Six) successfully sued to put the sale on hold. It looks a lot like fraudulent papers were forged for a $3.8M loan to Lisa Marie Presley (Elvis' daughter), who passed away last year. Priscilla Presley, 78, says it's a scam. I'm astonished at what appears to be the brazen fraud of Nassauny, the "lender" foreclosing. This will be interesting...

I was stationed in Millington, TN for 16 months. I flew back and forth every weekend to DC - pre-911: The BOQ was free and the airline ticket was less than gas if I was commuting to DC by car.
Once every few month I stayed in Millington, near Memphis, if I had a promotion board to run, test pilot school board, etc. So, I visited Graceland. Yikes. All I can say is that is was a weird experience...sad, really. Hope they keep it, just not sure why...other than tourists. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1716401741.jpg |
I'm not going to look it up but the royalties from Elvis' records and movies should take care of this if they are still even part of the estate. Lisa Marie was a dirtbag.
(looked it up and Elvis Presley Enterprises does get the publishing rights and royalties from records 1973 and later. RCA owns the early songs. |
I've been to it. It was OK. Well worth the time.
I must admit the little cemetery was weird. The Tappen stove in his kitchen was the same one that was in my parents house. A Tappen Fabulous 400. |
I was looking at this story yesterday; the granddaughter who's spearheading the countersuit looks totally normal (and sort of cute and sweet) - unlike Lisa Marie and her brood.
There's always been something sort of 'ghetto trash hits it big' about the whole Elvis zeitgeist. (But Priscilla's beaver line in Naked Gun was still funny AF and still makes me laugh) |

I'm sure the truth will come out with audit trails of financial transactions. |
I remember a few years back when Lisa Marie sold the licensing rights for 100 million, which I thought was low for Elvis/Graceland.

Furthermore, Graceland is listed on the Nat Reg of Historic Places. |
With the latest generation, it will be long forgotten within 2 more decades.

at 52 i’m probably the last generation that gives a crap. i was at Graceland in 2005 and enjoyed the experience. I was in the foreclosure business for about 10 years and this appears to be a typical fraud and forgery case.

Well, different strokes. I love Elvis (the Sun Records period) I went to the Sun Records tour to see where Elvis and a few other notable artists invented rock and roll and drove down the street to Graceland after some tasty Memphis BBQ. Good times.

Johnny Ramone in his “Elvis Room”
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1716414927.jpg I would rather tour Johnny’s “Ramone Ranch” if I’m honest. I bet Linda would give me a tour for $2 |
Nassauny had bid to have Graceland auctioned off on Thursday but was thwarted in Chancery Court in Memphis by Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins. He had claimed Lisa Marie, who died in 2023, had borrowed millions of dollars in 2015.
In response to an email sent to an address on the court papers, a man purporting to be Nassauny told DailyMail.com said he was 'withdrawing all claims with prejudice.' |
On the radio show this AM, it was said that Lisa Marie sold off 85% of the ownership for the $100M or so. So the family only retains 15% of the estate.
