Black Car With Bronze Wheels

So, ever since seeing that black Audi wagon with the bronze wheels last Sunday, I have been wondering what my SHO would look like with bronze wheels. I know, I know, it's just a Taurus SHO, no big deal, but I've been wanting to do a few things to it. Many years ago, I was going for the "murdered" look. I blackened the tail lights and corner marker lights with some Nite Shades and had some black wheels with a chrome lip picked out, but things happened, and I couldn't finish the look, but now I can but don't know if I want that look anymore. I like the bronze wheels, just don't know if the SHO can pull it off.

Here is a picture of the inspiration vehicle, pictures of the SHO, and pictures of the BBS wheels that I like. Bronze, or black? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2dc573e851.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...09019c4b90.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3ad0578f54.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...47a1efac90.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8eaafb6159.jpg

Brought this little guy home Friday. Turbo S. Wheel color was not my choice since I am kinda traditional and conservative, I wanted silver rims. Wheels Enhancement did the work. All stock, Porsche wheels. I posted in my old man car thread http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1716704450.jpg

I don’t think the SHO can pull it off with bronze wheels.

Just my $.0002.

I'd go with the bronze wheels. I think it would look good.

I agree.

Take a chance, and live dangerously. :)

It will look good.

It's a Taurus. SHO is some non-descript fun so while I can understand the temptation, I'd wonder about subtracting from the best fundamental part of the car.

I think the bronze will look nice on the SHO. The black is too much in my tastes.

Hobie needs to post a picture of his car from the side (camera in the middle of the car) with the car at about a 10-15 degree angle to match up with the angle of the wheel picture he posted. Sort of like this, but a better shot. Wheels pointing straight, camera level with the car.

Why not buy some bronze peel off paint and do one side, see if you like it. If you like, move to step 2 and get rims.
Honestly, only you can decide if you like. I say go for it. You’ll always wonder if you don’t. Don’t like, you then sell. It’s the chase.

Search for wheels at Tirerack you can search for your SHO and it will bring up all of the color options

Do it. Easy choice and even easier to reverse.

Oh, And raised white letter tires, yo.

eff the SHO haters. It’s your car. Do whatever the eff you want.

That is where I found the BBS wheels and Tire Rack used to have a picture of the car and you could see what the wheels would look like. I guess the SHO is too old or something because that feature isn't available anymore.

Put the wheels on a take a few pics and we’ll decide.

This was a car I found on SHOforum many years ago, and I was going for a similar look. I wanted to lower the car just a tad and go up on the wheel and tire size a little also. The original wheels are 16 inches, and there is quite the gap between the tire and fender.
Here is a picture of the wheels I wanted to put on the car back then. They are black but have a chrome lip. I figured the chrome would break up the black a little and tie in the stainless exhaust tips. Last but not least, here is a side view picture of my SHO. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6fc78893ea.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d94e57f10a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fc5db44281.jpg

Usually when you go up on the wheel size, you get a lower profile tire to compensate. If you don't, the speedometer will read less than actual. It might affect the handling, too. Lowering it a bit will reduce the gap to the fenders, but I wouldn't want to hurt the ride quality.

It's amazing what some stance and wheel and tire can do for a car. I don't think you can go wrong with either as long as you lower it a bit and go up a size in wheel.
