Dipped Tank…

I’ve been driving a tdi and diesel cars/trucks for 15 years now and I’ve never had my tank dipped for the strawberry koolaid flavor diesel…

Has anyone had their tank dipped for untaxed fuel?…

Doesn’t it color the tailpipe and they catch you that way?

It all burns the same.

In the UK, they’ll run it through kitty litter to remove the dye.

Once near my house in Vermont, I filled my F250PSD with dyed diesel because I sometimes am an idiot...

I don't think you have a thing to worry about.....I think they only check long haul truckers at weigh stations etc.. I think..

An errant or mistaken fill up (like I did) shouldn't be a problem

I sometimes throw in a quart of ATF fluid into the tank it's a great injector cleaner . If I was ever tested I wonder if I would be considered to be a cheater due to the red color of the ATF fluid?

I have never heard of any non commercial vehicles being checked for dyed fuel .
Just a few weeks ago, I saw my bud with his truck sitting at the off road pumps filling up . I got a little chuckle.
I bought 15 gallons on Saturday to fill my backhoe. It ended up only taking about 9, the rest went into my dually . Oh, and I also run atf or 2 stroke oil regularly
I would not dare chance it with the tow trucks though .

I have heard a few guys were caught around here about 20 years ago. They were driving dodge diesels with Farm Use tags.
