I've had mixed results with DIY rug cleaning, especially with larger or older rugs. A big issue is getting all the soap out so the fibers don’t feel stiff afterward. I’ve found that using a wet/dry vac helps a lot with extraction, but even then, some stains just won’t budge. If I can’t get a rug looking right, I let eagle house cleaning handle it—they have better tools and get it done faster.
