Richard Simmons RIP
Richard Simmons has died. It may have been skin cancer related.
He certainly was the "Mr Fun" of the 1980's aerobic scene. |
He was certainly a quirky man, but kind and compassionate. He did well for himself but never lost the connection with the everyday man.
He used to be a frequent guest on Howard Stern for some reason. Stern was a complete @$$ to both Richard and the people Richard tried to help. Rest in Peace Richard. |
He was always positive and upbeat. He seemed to really enjoy himself. And...when I dressed up like him for an 80's party years back, I was something of a hit!
RIP Mr. Simmons. |

I don't quite remember the context, but there was some documentary of Hollywood tour buses which would drive tourist through beverly hills and show the tourists the "houses of the stars".
Evidently, Richard Simmons was one of the favorites, because he would regularly come out, wave, and greet the tourist. |
Always the good guy. May he Rest in Peace.

When the king gets depressed, he doesn't call for his wife or the cook. He turns to the little man with the pointed hat and says to the court jester "make me laugh". And I am that court jester.

May Richard RIP .... 'cause he sure annoyed me back when.... sorta like Billy Mays....
I wonder how much was his "TV persona" and how much was the real Richard tho'... He seemed like a good guy .... |
Sad to hear that he had a fall in the bathroom on his birthday and obviously hurt himself.
He then did the worst thing possible and went to sleep after hitting his head. I knew two people who died the same way trying to ignore the fall they had and put off the family members who wanted them to get checked out. |
His guest appearances on Letterman were always good for a few laughs.
|
Quirky doesn't begin to cover it. RIP
