Top level amateur vs. a pro?

Okay, say you have a friend or relative ranked an APA 9 (very high ranking) in League pool. How would he do against the guy generally ranked second only to Shane Van Boening among the USA pool players? Mike Dechaine, aka "the pain from Maine". Early on, he was a bit nasty as a player...probably frustration for never quite reaching Shane's level. Word is he's mellowed a lot since then. The total video an hour, but the match, a race to 7 in 9 ball, takes only 26 minutes. Illustrates well the difference between a top pro and a top amateur.

I'd imagine, although I don't play golf, probably the same difference as between a club champion and a top pro?

Good analogy to bowling. The top pros will average 230+ across variety of oil conditions. Top amateurs crumble on pba oil patterns.

Pros are pros for a reason. Even crappy pros are awesome compared to most.
