Pennywort Beds
I have two log landings and a feeding landing for the turtles to bask in the sun.
But no...they want to soak up the sun on top of my Pennywort Plant. The plant is normally 5-6" tall....until the turtles move on top of it and crush it down. The plants are in floating containers, so I think they like the rotating view. They don't seem to care one bit about how I feel. :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1727384024.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1727384096.jpg |
One of 'em seems amused ... the other just doesn't care ...
Turtles :D |
Pics taken an hour ago....today was full sun and 75 all day. It won't happen much more this year.

You got it backasswards.
You don’t care how they feel. |
^^^ Hey...they don't appreciate how much time goes into changing and treating their water and filters.
A few more mistakes like this and they might find themselves back in Florida.:D Good luck finding freeze dried shrimp down there. They still wouldn't care. |

^^^ They like em crunchy.

I would think that with a hard shell over their belly....basking in the sun would be ok on a wood surface.

^^^ I'm ready.
If a mediator is needed, I'll accept any turtle except for a Snapper. Those Snappers are ruthless. I would lose the case. |

E.g., "It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me" Try that after some practice. |
I cleaned the filters this am and realized why they liked basking on the plants so much.
The water is freezing cold! The nights have been in the upper 40's and the days are much shorter now. (so the water temp dips) |
