I can rebuild a 911 engine, but I can’t wrap a present.

And it’s not for lack of practice! I have good intentions, but the finished product leaves a lot to be desired. I remember back in the day when you could just go to the indoor mall and there would be a table with ladies wrapping presents for a small fee. I would just take everything there!

Having worked for a commercial painter, I got tons of experience masking off all kinds of odd shapes quickly and efficiently.

Not only can I wrap anything well, it will stand up to a high pressure airless sprayer.

My wife is impressed

Seems like an oddly shaped box that wouldn't wrap very tightly.

My attempts at wrapping the batting helmets for the twins were, uh, um, marginal at best shall we say. They are covered, but, because of illnesses they weren't delivered yet. Maybe next week?

My neighbor could tune a piano, but he couldn't tuna fish.

Different skillsets. Anything can be learned with enough study and practice but most of us don't really care all that much about gift wrapping. A gal once showed me that cutting the paper to the right size was the secret sauce. After that my wrapping improved quite a bit but I will never win awards for my giftwrapping skills. Don't care.

Looks fine to me, but there are some details that could be tightened up.

I have recently seen a video of apparently a Japanese method of wrapping boxes that only uses a single piece of tape. It looks like a process to aspire to.

I'm more of an unwrapper than a wrapper.

Use the bag, Luke!

Actually, I did wrap one gift for my wife, just to prove I could do it, everything else was in gift bags.

Nah - looks good to me, Kurt.

Back in the day when I bought more gifts - I would try to purchase from Beall's Department Stores - because they offered free gift wrapping.

My postal carrier left this for me in my mailbox......I thought the bow was a nice touch!

LOL! My son’s mother-in-law was from Rhode Island and had a strong RI accent. He used to tease her about, “Making a tuner sandwich for the piano tuna.”
