I think it's a cry for attention.

People without real scars trying to make themselves interesting.

There’s a new genre on tick toc of people having conniptions over a recent event. It’s one thing to have a melt down. Posting it for the world to see is what confuses me. A very high percentage have nose rings. There has to be a connection. Maybe attention seeking is it.

Dainty little stud or small nostril hoop looks cute on some women provided they are otherwise reasonably attractive. Excessive piercings on women i find a "turn off" but if you aint hurtin nobody so what you like.

Couldn't care less on dudes either way.

Septum rings and big dumb glasses seem to be the (2) defining features of those unhinged idiots

Except for a horsepower, anything in excess, is bad.

BTW, How do they pick their nose when they have hardware in and on their nose?

There are 5-10k+ mummies discovered with tats and/or body modifications. Nothing new.
(don't kid yerself kid. it's not that special)

Seen many competent professionals with arm sleeve designs or other.

I'd hazard a guess it is an innate need to feel independent from something these days.
In the past, it might have been a sign of belonging to a group.
Maybe that is the same thing. IDK. I feel old.

Those must make having a cold a real nasty experience.

Nowadays, I'd say it's more like following the herd rather than demonstrating any feelings of independence. Interesting how tattoos and piercings have spread so quickly to the most remote corners of the 'first' world too. And as John pointed out, they're no longer just seen on 'edgy' people either. Middle-aged housewives are now sporting major ink...and tats can be seen on people who 25-30 years ago would've never even considered such a thing. I wonder how those who got tattooed back when it really was a sign of independence feel now that the look has gone mainstream?

At least with some piercings, you can just remove the hardware when you outgrow the look, while those who get tattooed, especially at a relatively young age, have to live with their sometimes questionable choices for the rest of their lives.

Eye appointment yesterday. The young lady that did the prep work for the eye surgeon had a nose ring.

I didn’t see it until about 15 seconds into the how are you portion of the program. It was apparent, in about 10 seconds, that she was a complete professional.

That good.

If nose rings bother you stay home or, give it 15 seconds.

I am not a fan, but admit there is an individual at the hospital with a nose ring who I find compellingly attractive.

Smart, cute and happy all the time

Every time I see them I can't stop staring at them and wondering how they blow their nose without creating total chaos.
Don't they realize the only other creatures that wear these are cows?

red-beard 11-23-2024 03:18 PM

A single hole stud or ring is OK. But the septum RING is too much.

We have two guys on site with pierced ears. Both. Not a fan.

New Service rep on site for a company today. She had the super pale makeup, multiple tattoos and colored hair. And totally useless. I can overlook things if they are competent.

I had a date with a woman who had some hardware...

We settled on Thai food for our dinner date ...

She claimed to like spicy...

When the flood gates opened from the papaya salad...I got to watch her runny nose collect on the nose ring... come together and drip... while she tried to keep up with the flood..

It was an interesting dinner

Boob/chest pieces are the new lower back tramp stamps.

Nope, not a fan not even a little bit. Nose rings are for bulls and cows. And those stud things on the nose. I told her friend‘s daughter years ago when she showed up with one, that when I was her age, we were embarrassed if we had a sit on our nose. We didn’t get it gold plated.

Once saw a guy at a restaurant with a larger-than-usual nose ring. He had to keep lifting it up with one hand while shoveling food into his mouth with the other

I'm with Baz. Certain piercings look sexy as hell on the right subject(s). Lol.

This is how I see it. When looking at a clean white canvas with a black dot, all one sees is the black dot. When I see a girl with a nose ring all I see is the ring. I never see if she is pretty or ugly. I over look the person totally.

You sound just like my college buddy ... except his focus was big knockers :D

A cute nose thingy is .... cute.

To each their own way ... but a ring ain't on my list ;)

Kid working at the local cel phone store has ear gauge things. This is against company policy. So every morning he takes the plastic rings out and loops the excess skin over the top of his ear like a rubber band.

Just a small detail that freaks me the **** out.
