i am certainly going to continue ignoring jags.

herr_oberst 12-03-2024 08:28 AM

Is it meant to be a...

Laughing jag
Crying jag?

Or maybe for current classic Jaguar owners it instigates a ...

Drinking jag?

Tervuren 12-03-2024 08:43 AM

Jaguar has had a back shot of it on their website for some time.

Combined with some spy photo's of it in zebra camo gave me some expectations.

It's not as good as it could have been, but not as bad as it could be either.

Copy Nothing looks like a scam as this screams an E version of the Cadillac 16.

As for breaking moulds, well, it is unusual relative to what is in production today even if it isn't very original relative to cars of the past.

Say what you want, it's better than quite a few current cars.

I agree. It's not the worst thing out there. I was actually thinking about a thread titled "Quick- you need to buy an EV- Jag or Cybertruck?"

Tervuren 12-04-2024 08:02 AM

Just found out this isn't a production car.
Explains the interior.

Pity, was hoping to see one out driving.
What will actually go into production is a four door.

This Jaguar would have made an excellent Villian-Mobile.

If that's the best one can say about it, well...

The sketches are a joke, nothing to consider there.

This idiocy will kill off Jaguar, for sure.

Always wanted an XJ, never pulled the trigger on one. Killing off the company will end that possibility.

Looks like a cartoon villain’s car

Good luck with that…

Yeah, it looks like something Cruella De Vil would drive.

all they have to do is convince some group of people that being uncool, is super cool.

like the cybertruck. the more negative backlash against it, the cooler the folks who love it think they are.

there is a very specific demographic of the world that negative feedback is their positive feedback, "triggering" people is their high, and their projection of everyone elses assumed emotional state is their reason and justification for doing something. even though no one feels the way they think they do about it.

again, cybertruck does this spades. its not that we are jealous, its just a ****ty truck. people who do real things with trucks know this. we dont mock it cause we want it, we feel sorry for you that you got trapped into buying one, and pretending its a good truck.

Jaguars were always artistic beauty combined with performance. This thing is a flop and all the management should be fired or quit. It's like watching an episode of "The Outer Limits" or "Twilight Zone" where they're in the future.

She is art though.

The fact that it has leaked via a tech site tells me all I need to know.
Like a lot of things in the creative arts these days, it’s…boring. Safe. Expected. Saddled with battery weight will ensure its place on instagram instead of the track. Sad.

Those sketches have absolutely nothing to do with what they are proposing to build.

Nada.

911boost 12-04-2024 12:45 PM

This is closer to what they will build based on the commercial…

Well aware of that-I’m in the field- but it’s a safe bet that what results will be just as “meh”.

javadog 12-04-2024 01:42 PM

I wonder if the company will survive long enough to even get the new car to market...

jhynesrockmtn 12-04-2024 01:59 PM

When was Jaguar last relevant anyway?

Bill Douglas 12-04-2024 04:23 PM

I think it's very clever, very strategic, ya know tapping into the gay market like that.

Jaguar are trying to get ahead of what's coming... There will be a whole bunch of changes in the automotive world over the next few years. Car companies that have been with us for decades will suddenly disappear.
