Bill Belichick to coach UNC

Quite surprised by this move . Does he really have the temperament to deal with 17 - 18 year olds and their parents ?

I am also surprised.

He does have the temperament to deal with a 24 year old girlfriend...

In the current environment of portal, I think he's more equipped than many.

Interesting . I just don't see him sitting in living rooms and recruiting young men with their parents . It just seems way out of character for him . But I could be completely wrong .

There is no doubt about his ability with X's and O's and field management and planning . Some would argue he is too " old school " for the college game . I wish him well .

Isn't the question 'Do the students and parents have the temperament to deal with him?'.

The kids and parents can be sent home or left watching from the sidelines, Bill's not getting fired....

I can see some parents thinking this choice will be very good for their kids.

Surprising for sure, I figured he would pop back up at the NFL level. UNC doesn’t seem like a big enough job for him, and I’m surprised he wants to deal with college kids, NIL, and transfer portal BS. But we’ll see I guess.

It's being reported his contract is for 5 years @ 10 million per year . Good work if you can get it ;) . That should keep him well stocked on Viagra :D

Dan Mullen back in coaching with UNLV

Scott Frost returns to UCF

Rich Rodriquez back to West Virginia

Big picture: While jarring for many, the hire is understandable and timely given the state of college football, which looks more like pro football with each passing year.

What he's saying: "A lot of colleges are looking at NFL-type models to structure personnel and coaching," Belichick told Pat McAfee during an interview last week. "You need a general manager, a coach and salary cap manager."

Local big news ...

He gave them a 40 page outline for his "plan" and his son is his successor ...

And Chapel Hill is a pretty cool college town to retire in :)!

Cheater Hill :D

You read it here first...

Tony Bennett quit coaching UVA basketball because he felt unable to adapt to the new era. I understand that the athletes deserve part of the pie now that its a billion dollar thing, but why don't we just call it minor league football/basketball whatever and not burden academic institution management with it. I know, of course, alumni $$$. Its awfully stupid though, to have university presidents spending much of their time on football programs.
