SC auto insurance
1st world problem
I own a vacation house is SC but live in Massachusetts. I have a car in the garage down there that is currently registered in Mass and has a soon to be expiring inspection sticker. Now I can drive back, inspect and drive back, sell or insure. The problem is the going rate for insurance seems to be 1200 without collision for a 10k car with a 1k deductible. I would likely put 500-1k a year on it. Since primary car in SC, I can’t use haggerty. I can’t bundle with the insurance I use for Mass cars because insurance co isn’t in South Carolina. Anyone have a similar situation? Advice? Thanks. |
I just received my renewal notice for my 84 Carrera through State Farm a couple days ago. Mine stays here in MI. We have no inspections in MI
6 month bill is $28.19....no collision coverage. I drive it about every day in the spring/summer. My 10 year plate is due to expire next year....$30 for 10 years. |
Can you get new year sticker for your plates without inspection? Seems like nobody in SC would even know your inspection was dead as long as the plates were current.

That might work. Thank you.

I called state and insurance. Looks like this will work. Thanks again, I wasn’t really ready to sell my car.
