"I accidentally sent you $500 - send it back"

The IMs say it all, except I don't have a Cash App account and won't ever have one.
Does anyone fall for scams this crude?
I will not be contacting Cash App to report it. I don't want anything to do with this.

Sadly the fact that they still try means that somebody somewhere is dumb enough to fall for it. I keep getting the USPS scam messages about my package being delayed. Poorly written and full of punctuation errors. Seems legit!

LOL!

This is a new one on me.

I did get one the other day where the same number sent 2 different texts within about 5 mins, with 2 different names and 2 significantly different scams.

I've been getting those the past 2 months, and they always come from the Philippines. Because the USPS would be sending texts internationally.

I tried asking big V for a new number due t this stuff and they said it doesn't matter. Apparently nearly if not ALL numbers are subject to this.

Yep. My across the street neighbor is an attorney that works in the DA's office. He was at work, on on a land line he received a call from someone claiming to be from the sheriff's office and claiming he had an warrant and if he paid $200 in Walgreens gift cards they would drop the charges. He got all the info of where to send the gift cards, hung up and opened a case on the caller to have a real warrant on them.

Awesome! Were they local? I assume they at least were US based.

The spam texts and calls have been off the chart lately.

All the blockers in the world don't help.

We bought a few bank repos. Scammers would send packages, etc to those unoccupied addresses.
