Taking a fiber supplement? Which one?

I’ve tried Konsyl, daily psyllium powder, and it seems to work but it’s expensive ($3.58/ oz). What are you taking and what’s its cost? Thx!

Oatmeal for breakfast, 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, whole grain bread, pasta and rice, peanuts …no supplements required and a lot more benefits!

Been using Metamucil for a long time, my colons thank me 😁

The healthy body requires at least 25 grams of fiber per day.
I take four 6 gram prebiotic gummies with my breakfast. It doesn't mean you should just eat meat. You have to eat foods with natural fiber along with the gummies.

That's my preferred route too. I do Greek yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and granola on top for breakfast almost every day and a slice of whole wheat bread with cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning.

Someone mentioned probiotics, Greek Yogurt or a Kefir smoothie are great for that. For gut health I think around 20 billion CFU's is recommended.

I take Metamucil tablets. They are not cheap, but my last colonoscopy the doc said all is fine, see ya in 10 years. So the capsules were paid for in that diagnosis.

I take 5 capsules at a time, at breakfast time and and dinner time.

i like metamucil as well but use the powder and mix it with water.

A couple of craft beer each day works for me.

I depend on the food I eat, like last night's dinner: sweet potato, peas, green beans, and about 3 oz., of steak. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fruit eater. I have to consciously think about eating them or I never do.

Wow. You hit on a familiar subject. I have an odd gut issue that developed in the last year or so. I have a diagnosis that I disagree with. Lots of fiber seems to be the ticket for me. I had been doing Metamucil (nasty artificial flavor/sweetener) but am now eating lots of chia seeds and that seems to have a similar effect.

Interesting topic.

I buy two giant tubs from Costco. I take it in the hopes it lowers cholesterol, not so much for my disposal department.

My dietitian says an average male needs 35 grams a day. That is like two bunches of celery washed down with a bowl of beans. I can’t get the numbers without the orangey stuff.

I've been using the psyllium husks from Sprouts every now and then as needed. What's the Costco stuff? I shop there weekly.

Just Metamucil. Sugar free.

It ain’t Tang, but I can slug it down. I do a smaller dose twice a day.

That's the one I use. It's like drinking a big tall glass of hay, but it works. I get mine at Sprouts or Whole Foods.

I take 2 of these psyllium capsules a day. $20 for 500 capsules.
