Please feel free to ridicule me about quaker oats or Pittsburghese speak .
A guy I used to autocross with sent me this , this morning . I hated racing against that guy . We both ran ASP , me in a class prepared 1980 Sc, and him in a modded turbo rx 7 ( zero doubt he had the dial a death cranked up ) I rarely matched his times, and only bested him a few .

Have a nice weekend boys !

LOL!

I don't interact with folks from up that way much, and most of the folks that I interact with in the NY/NJ area have fairly mild accents. But that's good stuff!

I sorely miss my conversations with Ron Madaio, RoninLB here. His New Yark accent...

That is great Fred, thanks for the laugh!

Have a fantastic weekend!

When we went to see the famous Plymouth Rock, I puled up to a parking lot with an attendant on duty. He had such a thick accent I could only understand one word of three. I asked him to repeat back to me what he had said. Finally I got that the lot was full, and I had a choice to leave him my keys so when someone left he would park it, or I could just go in to turn around. I said I would turn around, and was happy to find a spot on the street with a meter.

Growing up, I had a friend who's mother was from "Bastan" and she pronounced my name as "Matty". [emoji1787]

My son is from Ohio, but has lived near Boston for 25 years. He likes to make fun of the accent. Every statement ends in "ya be-asstid!"
So that would be, "Thems my khakis, ya be-asstid!!"

Folks from some of NC's former isolated islands down east talk funny too... I love it :)

I don't ;)

I took me too long on the kah-kis. What is ya be-asstid? Ohhh, bastard. Bwa ha ha. Never mind.

Off topic but east coast related. Comedian tells a joke 50 years ago I still remember. Family from Hackensack drives to California on vacation. Mom is completly anal retentive. Leaving LA for the long trip back, kid sees her right hand clutched firm holding something. Mom, what is that in your hand. She says the quarters for the Tappan Zee bridge toll.

There was a cute young chick in one of the rentals. I though she may have been from Sweden as they tend to learn (practice) their English from watching American TV. We were chatting so I asked her where she is from and she said Ohio. I said you don't sound very American. She laughed and said film industry actors often come to her part of Ohio to learn how to sound "less American" or more mid-Atlantic.
