I re-watched BAND OF BROTHERS.

man, it was so good! I bet I could turn it on and watch it right over again.

moving, pretty good lesson in history, well acted. so good. it was amazing to see (today's) big time actors playing roles in their youthful selves.

Yes! Seen it a half dozen times now, always something new to discover.
I rewatched it over the holidays. One a night. The episode in Bastogne through the eyes of the medic is a rough one. It's hard to comprehend how tough those guys had it.

(And the twit from Friends is a twit on BoB's; I. don't know why that's so satisfying?)

Actually, the real life Don Malarkey didn't despise the real life Sobel...he realized that during jump school, Sobel wanted to make Easy the most physically fit and well trained badass company among a unit of badasses. Don felt that he did that. But Don was also glad he didn't have to go into combat under Sobel.

I rewatch it every winter. I have a strong connection with the airborne. I started off my first three years in the Army as a Pathfinder in the 2/504 parachute infantry Regiment of the 82nd airborne. While the 101st gets a lot of the glory due to the band of brothers miniseries they were only in World War II from D-Day to the end of the war. The 82nd airborne was in it from the first US battles in Africa, into Italy, the D day invasion, the battle of the bulge on through the end of the war.

It is a great series. I think Saving Private Ryan shows the bravery of D-Day better. Both should be required homework for students in high school. I can't imagine being 18 or 19 and facing that. Thank you to all that did it so we could have peace.

Ok, that’ll be next on my watch list after Landman.

Agree about the age.
My father in law took the family bible and revised his birthdate in it to enlist for WW2 when he was only 17. He served in Italy, Africa, etc.

Then watch " The Pacific" and read "We Band of Angels" by Elizabeth Norman

Oh yeah "Hacksaw Ridge" is IMO a must watch also.
