McGriddle sandwiches
Just as I thought I was breaking away from fast food, this damned McD's has to go and invent something like this to reel me back in. But is there a better breakfast sandwich? Jack in the Box has the Croissanwich, which is close, but how do you hope to match the flavor of maple syrup built right in to the muffin?

Mmmm McGriddle..... yummy!
If you want to break away from the McGriddle, just look at the fat & cholesterol content of this breakfast sandwhich: the numbers alone will stop your heart!! -Z.

Hmm. When I was on vacation in the US, I was impressed by the menus at your fast-food outlets. We have McDonald's here in Australia (of course) but we still have the traditional menu, which I've steered clear of for some time.
However, the US McDonalds had a very broad menu, from hot-dogs to hot glazed cakes and so on. It was interesting when I drove my rental car in the drive through, expecting the standard fare and had to sit for a minute and read the (confusing) menus. I still felt kinda guilty eating it, but it was fun seeing a different spin on the menu. FYI, the greasiest, cheesiest burger I've ever eaten was at Jack-in-the-Box. An Ultimate Cheeseburger, which I thought was over the top, but kinda tasty. I didn't expect a 67oz soda with my meal and am still trying to figure out why every fast-food outlet includes upto 12 ketchup packets in the bag...

I don't mean to hi-jack your thread, nader, but in my mind there is only *one* fast-food chain.......In-N-Out.
http://www.in-n-out.com If only they would open some stores in Canada.

Let me take a moment to bring this thread back to it's glorious target: The magnificent McGriddle. What you folks aren't getting is the fact that the McGriddle has MAPLE SYRUP BUILT RIGHT IN! Geez, Louise, I think I'm going to starve myself for a couple days and then order up about ten of them, along with a bigass cup of that McD's purposely-not-too-hot-so-you-don't-burn-yourself-in-the-crotch-from-drive-through-spillage cheapo coffee to wash them down.
The McGriddle isn't just tasty, it's good for you. I say this from a professional standpoint based on my years of experience as a physician and high-performance driver/rookie racer. You see, the other day I had a McGriddle (with sausage) the morning of a Spec Miata practice day at the track. That sandwich lifted my spirits, and sat in my belly as a slow burning fuel that kept me going through a grueling morning of hardass driving. In fact, I posted my best times ever at the track that day! Thanks, McGriddle (and Arby's for lunch, but that should be another thread in itself), I couldn't have done it without you!

OK...I'll try a McGriddle (what creative mind thinks these names up for McD's?).
I think I'll have one on the morning of this years SCWDP Rainforest Round-Up. I suspect I'll need the "slow burning fuel" to help me survive the arduous days driving. But wait...are you sure it won't make me sick like a Big Mac once did?

Sick !? . . .no-no; that would be "McHurl"
Nader, you know those Mc's are only fun until the McHurl stains your favorite Members-Only jacket. SHeesh, I mean it's just not cool to wear, after something like that happens to it. ![]() LOL, Nader. BTW; just wait 'til McD's get's a hold of your post and takes if seriously. Maybe you'll be in a commercial. ![]()

Listen, Buddy, don't knock it till you tried it. THE SANDWICH HAS FRIGGIN MAPLE SYRUP BUILT RIGHT IN! How can I describe the gustatory delight? It's like Spinal Tap's special amplifier. The maple syrup takes a breakfast sandwich that's already a "10," and now makes it into an "11." Throw in the branded "M" and a snappy name, and you have an instant classic.
Viva McGriddle! Viva McGriddle! Gooooooooooooaaaaaaaallllll!

Tried one this morning. I may be in the minority, but I prefer Egg McMuffins.

Tried my first and likely last McGriddle this morning. The bacon, egg and cheese biscuit kicks it's butt. Surprizingly good coffee. First visit to Ronalds place in over a year.
