I like Texas Pete but can't reconcile that it is made in North Carolina. Doesn't stop me from buying it though.

Sauce was too hot and ignited ? :D . Actually Texas Pete is decent stuff . Hope no one was injured in the fire .

I like Texas Pete! It’s good stuff, they always have it in packets at hotels for breakfast.

I like Texas Pete because it has a nothing special but decent flavor and is mild which makes it ideal for mixing it into ultra hot and tasty hot sauces, ones that are honestly too hot to enjoy but have a great flavor. Texas Pete is good reducing heat but maintaining special flavor.

That's genius! I've been dumbing the hot stuff down with ketchup. :o I'll try Pete's.

Thanks, I have always been a what if I did this sort of person. Takes a lot of experimentation and depending on the end result, butter adds richness and softens the flavor as well.

Dave's Insanity is my favorite sauce out of the 30+ I have now. The flavor is smokey but intense, but is too hot to enjoy. I made my own version of Peter Luger's steak sauce (mince the anchovies, don't puree) and added 2 large drops to about a cup and half. Those 2 drops made it too hot to enjoy with a steak.

It's made in Winston-Salem, His name was TW Garner, and it's mild :D

There was no other sauce here as a kid .... guess which Doughnuts ruled the universe too ;)

I have put TP on everything my whole life ... never purchased any ;). Louisiana and Cholula and the non-killer stuff my buddy makes. He knows better than to kill me... again :)

Our go to wing sauce when I had my bistro was Texas Pete and melted butter...

My go to hot sauce for the last while is Habanero Tabasco, love that stuff.

Texas Pete FTW! I like to put it on barbecue, chili, etc.

Wow. Best use of the scientific method I've seen in a while.

Thanks, it's amazing what a bio/biochem degree can do for you, I use it all the time.
