Probably driving slowly in case they hit a pot hole and experience the "death wobble"!!!

I agree with the observation that some of the short wheel based vehicles', like the wrangler, usually go slow- or they go ridiculously fast.
My thought is- most people drive at a speed they feel comfortable. They do not really watch the speedometer- they just drive what feels right. In the shorter wheelbased vehicles- anything over 30mph feels like you are going 100. They are squirrely, loud, wind blowing everywhere. So unless someone is really paying attention- they are driven more slowly My guess gary |
Well,
We have an 80 mph speed limit on I-70 out here and my 2019 JL Rubicon does that no problem. And my 2005 TJ will do 70 mph easily also. It's the drivers... Or, they may have aired down their tires in Florida - just in case. However, a word to the wise if you come here for Jeep Safari week, they have reduced all speed limits in town so slow that you can walk faster, and there are speed traps everywhere. But... they are just looking out for you and want you to be safe. |

I think they're looking for a hill to climb.... in Florida |
Maybe there's a python wrapped around the driveshaft from the last muddin' event?

Got out for a lil snow run today. Never get enough photos, but these of Jawbone Falls was something worth getting out for. In the 2013 Rim Fire burn area in Tuo*Co.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1742692573.jpg

The thing that got my attention was not their speed but in a lot of cases their lack of common sense. I’ve seen many around here with the doors removed and a foot peg in the door hinge bracket so that they can ride around with their leg outside the vehicle. Seems pretty senseless in a vehicle that has roll over tendencies to begin with.

I rented a CJ once on Kauai, drove out to Barking Sands. Thing rode like a coal cart. Never again.

And I've never seen that on any Jeep around here. |
Lots of them here, mostly driven by tourists. Top down, doors off and going, "Wow, look at the ocean, look at how blue the sky is..."
