Yup, that is very much their attitude - they are proud to be one of the last places on Earth where the Karens haven't won. An ongoing, community backed big middle finger to the hand-wringing ninnies that have ruined so many other things. God bless the TT!

The TT is sort of like gran prix racing in the 50s/60s and earlier. Drivers died almost every weekend. People shrugged and the racing continued until something really horrendous happened like the 55 Le Mans.

I remember reading about the controversy of the TT in Superbike magazine 25 years ago. I doubt attitudes have changed much.

having been a marshal for F1, IMSA and IndyCar thinking about volunteering for next year.

A few racer friends of mine did it a few years ago. The TT org knows you want to also enjoy the event so they were shuffled around to different stations during the week. They also got to enjoy behind the scene stuff, like small teams throwing "keg" parties in the pits to raise funds.

Seemed like a really cool way to see and be involved too.

I haven't watched much motorcycle racing, but after viewing the fastest lap video, I will offer the opinion that motorcycle racers who do the TT make F1 drivers look like a bunch of wimps. :eek:
