Glad to hear you're doing better now.
Your tale of the in-car delivery brought back memories of when my sister tossed her cookies in the rear seat map pocket of my '68 BMW 1600 after having a little too much to drink at a cousin's wedding. Not a cleanup I care to remember. Interesting that my brother didn't come home with any stories of cute nurses after his latest bought with Sepsis at Stanford Med. |
Yesterday was my first out patient therapy session at the local hospital. A young woman (mid 30's is young to me) PT named Kendra. I'm going to miss the in home guys, especially Dan, the dirt bike guy...what's not to like about a guy who just rebuilt an old 2 stroke Husky?
Anyway, mostly an interview and some baseline balance and strength tests with Kendra. Sould be easy for me to improve on those because of my workout just getting to the rehab area. Parking lot jammed, no handicapped spots, so a 500 yards or so struggle over rough blacktop with a walker to get to the door. My current progress? I can walk unaided for short distances...balance getting much better, leg strength improving...I can now exit my recliner without having to push off the armrests...all big deals for me. Also, once numb areas now have feeling...so nerves are trying to repair themselves. More baby steps, but I'm trying to stay optimistic. |
