What was I thinking? Was I thinking? Aargh!

What the hell is going on with me? I almost set my house on fire, again.

I have this combination microwave/airfryer, and I set it wrong. Instead of 10 min. at 400°, I set it to microwave for 10 minutes, with a metal pan in. it. The smell, smoke, and flames, got my attention before it got out of hand. Still, it scared the snot out of me.

Again????

Sounds like it is time to get a separate microwave and airfryer

mgatepi 06-10-2025 10:18 AM

You will never get the smell of those burnt Sardines out of your house!!! :)

This. I just got the Ninja at Target. Highly recommend this. I’m not a fan of packed countertops but I will sacrifice something else to keep this handy. It’s the best thing I’ve found for cooking for 1 or 2 people.

The panko crusted cod was a real winner. The boneless chicken thighs were so easy even though I had to do them in two batches.

ROFLMAO!

I've got to assume that you've got something going on that's got you distracted or constantly focused inward. You need to figure out what that is and figure out how to compartmentalize it or put it on hold at times.

Get it together girl

Yes, I've done the same thing twice in a month now. I pray it's not some early dementia sign. My mamma died of Alzheimer's. Lord, I don't want to go like that

I would suggest a visit to your doctor . Don't hold back , tell him/her everything that concerns you . Losing some confidence or a little focus is probably normal . Hey no one gets any younger . When doing somewhat dangerous tasks you have to focus . Double or triple check what you are doing . I think you have this covered . Good luck

Reply of the day right there!

It sounds like the appliance is a accident waiting to happen.
How often do you put the milk in the cupboards? Seriously, we've all done it (I think)

+1

Separate the two. Not dimentia. It's a mindless task that requires way too much focus given the downside.

I practice having accidents every single day with Attention Deficit Disorder. E.g., I must wear a necklace type lanyard with keys around my neck or there is a weekly lockout I must address.

When I put my lawn sprinklers on manually I always tell myself… don’t forget about them. I always do. Last time it was a wet dream at 3 in the morning. ( no not that kind) Lawn was wet for a week.

Can you use pyrex/glass for airfrying? Then no harm done if microwaving.
